Local History Events

Each year the Local History Association arranges a Summer Meeting and a Local History Day. The Summer Meeting takes the form of a field trip to a different part of the County each year and is hosted by one of the local societies. The Local History Day is a very popular Conference.

Details of past Local History days organised by GLHA may be viewed here

Due to the coronavirus emergency, the 2020 Local History Day on the history of education in Gloucestershire has been postponed until 2021.

Sunday 28 June 2020

Annual Summer Meeting
(at Nailsworth).

Postponed until a later date - probably 2021

Summer Evening visits 2020

Monday June 1st 2020 - Tewkesbury Railway Walk with John Dixon.

Postponed until a later date - probably 2021

Monday August 3rd 2020 - Alney Island Walk with Ray Wilson.

If regulations permit, it is suggested this walk may take place, limited to say 12 with 'social distancing'. Notes would be available in advance describing the 'stops' so the leader would only say the minimum on the day. If not the event will take place at some later date.
