Local History Events

Each year the Local History Association arranges a Summer Meeting and a Local History Day. The Summer Meeting takes the form of a field trip to a different part of the County each year and is hosted by one of the local societies. The Local History Day is a very popular Conference.

Details of past Local History days organised by GLHA may be viewed here

Due to the coronavirus emergency, the 2020 Local History Day on the history of education in Gloucestershire has been postponed until 2022.

Local Societies:     Diary of Talks

Most Societies affiliated to The Local History Association arrange a programme of talks during the winter months.

A list of talks organised by Societies who are subscribers to the Association is normally available but it was not produced last year as all talks programmes were suspended due to the pandemmic. However, a list of the talks arranged for 2022 is being prepared and will be available here on 15 December 2021.
