One of the aims of GLHA is : To provide a forum for local history groups, societies and organizations within Gloucestershire to meet and share matters of common interest and concern regarding local history within the County.
At a Forum in 2025 member groups expressed an interest in finding out how other groups are run.
GLHA sent out a questionnaire asking groups to fill in details about about their membership charges, how they raise money to pay for their events, what other forms of income they have and what they offer to members. We also asked about their expenditure e.g. how much venues cost to hire, charges for speakers, insurance etc.
34 groups replied and we put together a summary for discussion at the Forum on December 8th 2025. Member groups were sent a more detailed summary outlining the various replies.
